It has been a common request by many customers that they need to add on man-power during a stock audit phase without the burden of extra payment for permanent licenses. Ginesys (ver. 10.29.4) now allows users to access stock entry module without adding licenses.
Now you can deploy any number of computers and users to carry out stock audit essentially free.
With this feature stock audits should become even faster.
All of us have to gift something at some point and in this age of choice it makes sense to give a gift voucher to most people. Stores are selling gift cards but are unable to track and control them.
This is where we come in, by adding gift vouchers as a core feature in GINESYS. Interestingly, it is the first and only product in India to have this as standard.
Here is a summary of how it works:
At the Head Office you create vouchers of various denominations. A series of these vouchers gets added to a booklet. Validity dates can be set for the vouchers in the booklets or can be auto-calculated. These voucher booklets can then be allocated to stores and booklets already sent can be cancelled.
At the stores, these booklets can be barcode scanned and sold updating available booklets.
Naturally gift vouchers are now selectable as a payment option at stores. Redemption will update head office and other stores as well that this voucher has been redeemed.
On the reporting side, various reports can be seen like booklets sold, cancelled, redeemed, sales linked to gift vouchers and others.

We understand the frustration of having to tag each unique barcode with an image so that these show up with images during search. This is necessary despite the fact that the same image can be used for all similar articles, categories or descriptions.Our new Image Tagging Convention Feature speeds up the process drastically where there are multiple sizes or categories with the same image. This new feature works at item group level. A user can decide at which level an item image will be specified, e.g. Article, Category, Description, etc.
Other features added are:
1. widening the scope of Excise compatibility to the stock module of GINESYS,
2. the ability to define Excise Document Scheme for each module,
3. the ability to run scheduled data backup through operating system tasks.
As promised we have rolled out a new version of our software today with a provision for excise duty. It was obvious that the new rules of excise duty would be a show-stopper for many of our existing and future clients and thus we have successfully developed and released the functionality in a record time of two weeks.

New Excise features:
Inventory: A new setup form Tariff Master has been introduced for the head office. This allows an administrator to set up various parameters like Tariff No., Tariff Basis (MRP and Rates), Effective Date, Abatement Factor, Duty rate, Education cess etc.
For inventory article setup the Excise Tariff Number is available and will be defined at department level.
Sales & Distribution: There is now an option of choosing excise tariff when setting up invoice terms along with VAT .

1. Select Item Modify Manage Item – Advance Search
Division and Section fields have been enabled for search criteria. So now a user can search for items by selecting just Division or Section. Value lookup has been provided for both Division and Section fields. In the Section field pressing F2 will open the value list in tree format and F3 will open value list in column format.
